the Ronald P. Smyth Opportunity Scholarship, an exceptional annual award that will
provide full tuition coverage to a deserving student who plans to pursue a post-secondary education in Canada.

Information: The goal of this award is to encourage students to make a positive contribution to their individual communities. Applicants must have completed at least 50 hours of volunteer work in the past 12 months. Must write an essay with the topic “If you could choose any organization in the world to volunteer with, who would it be? and why? (Please ensure you do not choose an organization that you have already volunteered with. Also, please ensure your essay does not exceed 1000 words.) ”
French for the future's national essay contest
Amount: $1,000 to $12,000
Information: Open to students in grades 10 to 12 across Canada, giving its winners the chance to pursue their postsecondary studies in French. This year’s topic is ““When I was in high school, playing rugby would allow me to relax and to find my balance” says Magali Harvey, member of the Canadian Rugby Team. With unlimited means (time, money, resources…), how would you improve the well-being of high school students?” Desired word length is 750.

Amount: Pages are employed with the House of Commons for a one-year term beginning in late August and work a minimum of 15 hours a week.
Information: Pages work in the House of Commons Chamber under the direction of a group of supervisors and a coordinator. They provide various services to Members of Parliament, the Speaker and Chair Occupants, and Table Officers. The Program is for first-year university students studying in the Capitol region. Students apply in their grade 12 year.
